In his first remarks since the presidential debate, President Donald Trump instructed the right-wing group Proud Boys to "stand down" and allow law enforcement to perform their duties.

Last night moderator Chris Wallace teamed up with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to press Trump to denounce white supremacists and far-right extremists.

When a reporter today asked the president about his "stand back and stand by" remarks, Trump answered: "I don't know who the Proud Boys are. You'll have to give me a definition, because I really don't know who they are."

"I can only say they have to stand down. Let law enforcement do their work. Law enforcement will do their work more and more as people see how bad this radical, liberal Democratic movement is and how weak," the president continued. "Law enforcement is going to come back stronger and stronger."

Trump reiterated in the press: "I don't know who the Proud Boys are, but they have to stand down and let law enforcement do their work."
