On Sunday, President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would be adding Alina Habba, who has been part of his legal team, to his administration as a Counselor to the President.

Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, "I am pleased to announce that Alina Habba will join my White House Team as Counselor to the President. Alina has been a tireless advocate for Justice, a fierce Defender of the Rule of Law, and an invaluable Advisor to my Campaign and Transition Team. She has been unwavering in her loyalty, and unmatched in her resolve - standing with me through numerous ‘trials,’ battles, and countless days in court."

He continued, “Few understand the Weaponization of the ‘Injustice’ System better than Alina, who has fought relentlessly against the full force of Lawfare with courage and an unshakable commitment to Justice.”

Trump continued, "As a first-generation American of Middle Eastern Heritage, she has become a role model for women in Law and Politics, most recently being named Chaldean Woman of the Year. Congratulations to Alina, her husband Gregg, and her three beautiful children, Chloe, Luke, and Parker."

Habba replied on X, "Honor of my life to serve the 45th and 47th President and the American people."

Additionally, Trump announced that he was nominating Christopher Landau as Deputy Secretary of State on Sunday, according to The Hill. If confirmed, the former ambassador to Mexico will work alongside Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio to promote US security and prosperity through an America-first foreign policy.

Trump said, "Chris served as my Ambassador to Mexico, where he worked tirelessly with our team to reduce illegal migration to the lowest levels in History. He is also one of our Country’s great lawyers and clerked for both Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas on the United States Supreme Court."

In another post, Trump added that he was appointing Michael Needham as Counselor of the Department of State. Needham previously served with Rubio for many years.

On Sunday evening, Trump also announced that Michael Anton will be appointed as the director of policy planning in the State Department, writing, "Michael served me loyally and effectively at the National Security Council in my First Term. He has an extensive background in Government, the private sector, and academia. He spent the last eight years explaining what an America First foreign policy truly means."
