Speaking outside the courthouse in Manhattan during a break in the civil fraud trial of 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, one of his attorneys, Alina Habba, said that Judge Arthur Engoron "yelled" at her and slammed a table.

Habba said, "Everyone has a right in this country to get up and put a defense. I don’t care who you are. You have the right to hire a lawyer who can put objections on the record. You have the right to hire a lawyer who can stand up and say something when they see something wrong."

"But I was told to sit down today. I was yelled at, and I’ve had a judge who is unhinged slamming a table. Let me be very clear, I don’t tolerate that in my life, I’m not going to tolerate it here."

Habba said that Engoron "has already predetermined that my client committed fraud before we even walked into this courtroom."

"This judge decided this case and liability before we walked up those stairs. I didn’t have a shot. So right now we’re sitting here doing a whole dance and the only thing they want are facts that are bad for Trump."

"That’s why he’s silencing him. That’s why he’s telling him short answers, and that’s why he’s clearly enraged. His face is red. He came in hot, and he doesn’t know how to handle him."

The attorney also took aim at James, saying that the New York attorney general "wants to stand right here like she did this morning and call my client a liar, call the company fraudulent, and make a name for herself."

During Trump’s morning testimony, Engoron reportedly told attorney Chris Kise to control Trump after the former president answered a question without a yes or no, or he would be dismissed from the stand, according to CNN.

"Mr. Kise that was a simple yes or no question. We got another speech. I beseech you to control him if you can. If you can’t I will. I will I excuse him and draw every negative inference that I can."

Throughout Trump’s responses, CNN reported that "Engoron has repeatedly grown frustrated at Trump’s answers, cutting him off and striking on response from the record."
