President Donald Trump has announced his plan to create a federal task force aimed at combating anti-Christian discrimination. Speaking at the Turning Point Action Believers Summit in West Palm Beach on Friday, Trump outlined the proposed task force, which would investigate instances of persecution against Christians.

“I will create a new Federal Task Force on Fighting Anti-Christian bias. Its mission will be to investigate all forms of illegal discrimination, harassment, and persecution against Christians in America,” Trump declared.

Trump has previously pledged to create a task force designed to push back against anti-Christian biases. Last year on the campaign trail, Trump promised to “end the war on Christians,” and said that under the Biden administration, “Christians and Americans of faith are being persecuted and government is being weaponized against religion like never before."

This initiative comes on the heels of concerns raised by congressional Republicans, who have said that the FBI has been targeting devout religious Christians under the Biden administration. In a report issued last August, the House Judiciary Committee accused the FBI of labeling traditional Catholics as "potential domestic terrorists."

During his speech, Trump also slammed Vice President Kamala Harris. He said that, as a senator, Harris had attacked judicial nominees for their membership in the Knights of Columbus, suggesting that their Catholic faith disqualified them from serving on the federal bench.

"I don't know how a Catholic can vote for the Democrats, because they're after the Catholics almost as much as they're after me,” Trump said.

Trump also stated that "No president has ever done what I've done for Christians,” highlighting policy initiatives aimed at protecting the religious freedom of Christians. This included protecting religious liberty for doctors, nurses, and teachers.
