Trump slams 'ridiculous' NYC trial, says 'the whole system is rigged' ahead of day 2 of jury deliberations

"I’d like to answer all of your questions, that are easy to answer, but I’m gagged so I can’t talk as much as I would like to about this ridiculous case."

Speaking outside the Manhattan courtroom ahead of day 2 of jury deliberations in DA Alvin Bragg’s falsified business records case, Donald Trump criticized the "ridiculous" case, adding that "the whole system is rigged" and he hasn’t seen "one legal scholar or expert in the law saying this case should have been filed."

"I’d like to answer all of your questions, that are easy to answer, but I’m gagged so I can’t talk as much as I would like to about this ridiculous case," Trump began. "It’s hurting our country so badly."

Pulling out articles from journalists and experts to read aloud, as he has done many times throughout the trial, Trump added, "Everyone’s against this case. I haven’t seen one legal scholar or expert in the law saying that this case should have been filed. It should not have been filed, or at a minimum it should have been filed seven years ago."

"Everybody turned it down, including federal elections," Trump added.

After reading through pieces from the National Review’s editorial board, CNN’s Elie Honig, MSNBC’s Catherine Christian, and others, Trump noted a new poll out from NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist showing that Trump is leading among independents against Biden 54 to 42 percent.

"That’s the best we’ve ever had," he said. He continued to say that the trial is a "disgrace" and that "millions and millions of dollars" have been spent on the trial "daily," adding that it looked like Fort Knox outside the courthouse.

"This is a very sad day for America. The whole world is watching. And it’s a very sad day for New York." he said, later adding people are "not going to bring their business to New York and it’s going to cost the city trillions and the state trillions and trillions of dollars. Businesses are leaving and people are fleeing."
