Turning Point Action to host Nebraska rally to block Biden's 'blue wall,' make state winner-take-all for electoral votes

"Nebraska, a bright red state where Republicans outnumber Democrats two-to-one, has it within its power to join 48 other states and to take this path off the chessboard for the Democrats," Kirk said.

On Tuesday evening, Turning Point Action will hold a rally in Omaha, Nebraska in support of the state becoming a "winner take all" state for electoral college votes.

The Win Every Vote Rally will take place at 7 pm local time at the Lord of Hosts Church.

The movement to change Nebraska to a winner-take-all state has gained momentum in recent weeks as the general election nears closer.

The state has been one of two states that awards votes based on Congressional districts, instead of awarding all the votes to the winner of the state’s election. Under the Congressional district model, two votes are awarded to the overall winner of the state, and the remaining three votes are won by the person who won the respective district, of which Nebraska has three. The only other state that uses this model is Maine.

"Joe Biden's best and most likely path to the White House is to hold the 'blue wall' plus NE-02. Multiple publications have pointed this out. Biden's campaign knows this all too well." Charlie Kirk told The Post Millennial.

"Their whole strategy hinges on this one electoral vote. Nebraska, a bright red state where Republicans outnumber Democrats two-to-one, has it within its power to join 48 other states and to take this path off the chessboard for the Democrats," he added. "This forces Joe Biden to expand the map by spending more money to defend more states. The stakes could not be higher. This rally is all about celebrating the Nebraskans who have championed the winner-take-all model including Gov. Pillen, Sen. Ricketts, the majority of the Nebraska legislature, and the NE GOP. Our message is clear: Call a special session and get winner-take-all done in time for November.

The movement has gotten the support of Governor Jim Pillen, who said, "I am a strong supporter of Senator Lippincott's winner-take-all bill and have been from the start."

"It would bring Nebraska into line with 48 of our fellow states, better reflect the founder's intent, and ensure our state speaks with one unified voice in presidential elections."

"I call upon fellow Republicans in the Legislature to pass this bill to my desk so I can sign it into law."

LB764 is set to be added through an amendment to LB 541, a bill that is already in general file. This means the bill could be taken up and voted on in the current session.

In the 2020 election, Trump won statewide, as well as in Districts 1 and 3. Biden won the state’s second Congressional district, which encompasses Omaha and the surrounding areas.

Kirk previously noted, "Suppose Donald Trump flips Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada next fall, as current polls all show him doing. Would he win the presidency? Not quite. In fact, if Trump flips those three states and no others, he loses by exactly ONE electoral vote"

"Why? Nebraska. Despite being one of the most Republican states, Nebraska awards its electoral votes by Congressional district instead of winner-take-all. Thanks to this system, Omaha's electoral vote leans blue: Obama won it in 2008, and Biden won it in 2020. He's likely to win it again this year."
