Twitter users flooded the Big Tech platform with orange emojis Saturday on the one-year anniversary of former President Donald Trump's permanent exile.
At the time, Twitter cited "risk of further incitement of violence" as the reason for Trump's boot off the site in the wake of Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. The tech giant's move came despite the fact Trump called for peace on the day in question, instructing protesters to march "peacefully and patriotically" on the Capitol.
Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec led the Twitter craze, tweeting, "Throw it up," along with the orange-colored citrus fruit emoji (that's technically a tangerine) representing the famous Orange Man.

Memes and jests were plentiful. Conservative account Election Wizard tweeted a dad joke with the punchline: "Orange you missing Trump?!?!"
Others were content with more subtle and low-key support. "Bring him back," podcaster Benny Johnson and Fox News commentator Jason Meister quipped.
Whether social media users love or hate Trump, both sides have admitted that Twitter was a more livelier place when the 45th president was present.
