A recently released documentary from the UK’s Channel 4 shows a journalist who went undercover with far-right group Patriotic Alternative being attacked by Antifa members.
The documentary, titled "The Enemy Within: The Far Right: Dispatches," follows an undercover journalist, Elliot, who infiltrated the British group over the course of a year.
A clip of the documentary shows Elliot walking with members of the group while they drop off leaflets at homes.
"Why have we chosen this area?" the journalist asks those with whom he's leafletting.
"It's Rotherham," comes the response, "we're on the outskirts, which is heavily white, heavily working class."
"They think they’re alone, but today, others are watching," a voice over states.
As Elliot walks away from a house and towards the street, he is greeted by an opposing group of people dressed in black bloc with their faces covered. They come at him and attack.
"No, no, no, no, no," Elliot says, "listen, I am an undercover journalist." He repeats his message, trying to get them to listen. They do not.
"Are you?" The masked militants mock.
"Mate! Listen to me!" Elliot says as the militants continue their attack. "I'm being serious!"
He is shoved to the ground and attacked before he is able to escape, running down the street to a backup car. He reports that he's "been attacked" by three men.
The voice over stated that the journalist blamed the attack on "far-left antifascists."
The Patriotic Alternative had been dropping off leaflets in the Rotherham area, which were revealed to be "fake" Labour and Conservative party leaflets that sought to persuade people to vote against these parties, reported the Independent.
