"People who have been involved in recoveries have said there are at least four types. Four separate types."
Dr. Hal Puthoff, who previously advised the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program and has worked on government-funded research projects, discussed the issue during an appearance on Steve Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast with filmmaker Dan Farah.
“People who have been involved in recoveries have said there are at least four types. Four separate types,” the 89-year-old said. “Now I have not had direct access to that but I believe the people who I talked to — four separate types of life.”
Puthoff did not specify what those alleged species were, but referenced second-hand accounts from individuals he said were connected to recovery efforts.
Separately, former AAWSAP colleague Doctor Eric Davis has previously described four categories of alleged recovered biological entities: Grays, Nordics, Reptilians, and Insectoids, according to comments made in public forums and meetings on unidentified anomalous phenomena.
Davis has said the beings are broadly humanoid in shape, with arms and legs, and in some cases resemble human form. He also claimed that both Reptilian and Nordic types are approximately human-sized, around six feet tall.
Nordics have been described by UFO researchers as human-like beings resembling populations from Northern Europe. Reptilians are described as humanoid figures with scaled skin and reptile-like features. Grays are commonly depicted as small, hairless beings with large eyes, often referenced in popular UFO accounts. Insectoids, sometimes referred to as “Mantids,” are described as mantis-like humanoids.
Claims of recovered “non-human biologics” have also been raised in formal settings. Former Air Force intelligence officer David Grusch testified under oath in 2023 that the U.S. had retrieved such material from crashed craft, though those claims were based on second-hand reporting.
Filmmaker Dan Farah said on the same podcast that individuals connected to alleged recovery programs have been unwilling to appear publicly. “I’ve talked off the record with some people who are involved in recoveries,” Farah said. “They would not go on camera to do interviews.”
He also described one potential source withdrawing before an interview, saying: “One I thought was going to do an interview and then a couple days before sent me a message saying ‘After further consideration and long talks with my wife, I decided I’d be forfeiting my life if I participated in your interview,’”
The claims were discussed in connection with Farah’s documentary Age of Disclosure, which premiered in March.
