A gang-affiliated teen accused of kidnapping, stabbing, and disembowling a 14-year-old boy in Washington state has been released on bail. Hayden Scott Lusebrink, 17, of Tulalip, was arrested on December 18 and booked into the Snohomish County Juvenile Detention Center. Judge Jon Scott of the Snohomish County Superior Court set his bail at $300,000, according to court documents obtained by The Post Millennial. The defendant posted bond and was released from custody on December 20, jail records show.

Lusebrink has been charged with first-degree assault, first degree robbery, and first-degree kidnapping. According to a probable cause affidavit, Snohomish County prosecutors said Lusebrink worked with co-accomplice Millorz Canales, 17, of Marysville, to lure the young victim to Lions Park in Everett, a city just north of Seattle, on December 17. The pair allegedly tied the victim to a tree, repeatedly stabbed him, disembowled him, and left him for dead.

After Lusebrink and Canales fled the scene, the 14-year-old victim managed to free himself and escaped to a nearby neighbor's home. The resident called 911 to report that a teen covered in blood arrived on their doorstep. According to court documents, the victim had "traumatic" injuries including multiple stab wounds and was disembowled. The victim told authorities that the two suspects stripped him naked and held him at gunpoint during the attack.

The letter "N" was carved into the victim's chest. Court documents show that the victim told police one of his attackers was in the "Norteno" gang. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Lusebrink and Canales were arrested at their homes the next day, December 18. Both of them are students at Lakewood High School and have been charged as adults. On December 19, Judge Jon Scott, whom Democratic Governor Jay Inslee appointed to the bench in 2022, set Lusebrink's bail at $300,000. Lusebrink was released the next day after posting bond, according to court documents obtained by TPM.

Canales, who has an extensive criminal history, had his bail set at $1 million. He remains in custody and faces the same charges as Lusebrink, records show. On December 2, Canales was released from custody in a separate armed robbery case that occured on November 15 in Seattle. Despite prosecutors' objections, King County Juvenile Court Judge Veronica Galvan ordered Canales to be released to home detention. Canales allegedly reoffended within two weeks of his original release.

Millorz Canales was arrested by Seattle Police on November 15 in connection to an armed robbery case.

On June 10, 2022, King County Sheriff's deputies arrested Canales on burglary charges. He was found guilty of third-degree theft and first-degree criminal trespass. Canales received a deferred sentence and community service. On May 3, 2023, Canales was arrested for obstruction, and he pled guilty on September 12. He was sentenced to probation, with conditions. Canales broke his probation and received a 14-day prison sentence with a seven-day credit on July 12, 2024. According to court records, he has also been referred out of Thurston County for first-degree robbery in connection with an incident in October 2023.

Lusebrink is scheduled to be arraigned on January 6, 2025.
