Washington Post’s resident “conservative” columnist and die-hard NeverTrumper Jennifer Rubin admitted that she broke down in tears over a dozen times throughout the live broadcast of the Democratic National Convention, which aired nightly over the past week.
The self-proclaimed “conservative opinion writer” of the Post is now facing mockery for her admission, with many conservative pundits on social media expressing their disbelief at her claim.
Rubin made the admission when CNN contributor Amanda Carpenter asked her audience to reveal how many times the programming made them cry.

The Herald Sun’s Rita Panahi tweeted: “Umm don’t you mean Washington Post’s *conservative* columnist cried 15 to 20 times.”

“I deadass did not cry that many times for my own father dying and I’m not sure what that says about me or her,” wrote Christine Rousselle. “For fairness sake, I identify as Irish Catholic and as I’m sure you know we don’t really ‘do’ emotion.”

Most Americans did not appear to share Rubin’s enthusiasm for the event. The Hill reports that while Democratic candidate for President Joe Biden drew the best ratings of the online convention, ratings were below Hillary Clinton’s speech in 2016, and 38% lower than Donald Trump’s acceptance speech.
