Democrat Representative Kim Schrier, who serves Washington state's eighth district in the US House of Representatives, is bankrolled by self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), according to Politico.
Up for reelection, the Schrier campaign accepted a $5,000 donation from socialist Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, who has been at the forefront of radical policies including defunding the police, the green new deal, abolishing ICE, and open borders to name a few.
At least 6 Democrats rejected the donations but Schrier willfully accepted the cash from Ocasio-Cortez’s Courage to Change PAC. The Democrats either declined the initial transfer or said they would return the money. Many of their campaigns did not know about the about the donations until after it hit registered in their accounts.
On Monday, The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched a website to publicize vulnerable Democrats who have not returned campaign the unexpected donations from AOC. The NRCC labeled the seats "offensive opportunities" to win back the House in the upcoming midterm elections.

NRCC Spokesman Michael McAdams said in a statement, “Vulnerable Democrats who are bankrolled by a radical, self-avowed socialist forfeit the right to complain when we accurately tell voters about their dangerous socialist agenda.”
One Democratic consultant told Politico, “The GOP has spent four years saying the frontliners are all socialists. Now they’ve got the receipts to prove it. Anyone telling themselves this won’t be in campaign ads is in denial.”
As Seattle experienced historic violent riots and civil unrest throughout the Summer of 2020 in response to the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department, Schrier remained silent and failed to condemn the violent riots which continues to occur in the county she serves.
Instead, Schrier remains null and in lockstep with fellow members of congress that advocate for progressive policies.
Representative Schrier was the first candidate in WA State history to flip the seat in the eight district for the Democrats.
