The House Oversight Committee on Monday released video of Hillary and Bill Clinton’s depositions regarding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The former Secretary of State appeared before the committee on Thursday, while the former president appeared on Friday.

In her opening statement, Hillary Clinton said she had no information regarding the activities of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. She accused Republican lawmakers of covering up a relationship between Trump and Epstein.

"You have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump’s actions and to cover them up despite legitimate calls for answers."

"If this Committee is serious about learning the truth about Epstein’s trafficking crimes, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement; it would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files."

"If the majority were serious, it would not waste time on fishing expeditions. There is too much that needs to be done. What is being held back? Who is being protected? And why the cover-up?"

Bill Clinton said in his opening statement that he had "no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing," despite the numerous photos he was seen in that were released as part of the Epstein Files.

He said, "I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing. No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that at the end of the day matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos. I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I didn’t see. I know what I did, and more importantly, what I didn’t do. I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong."

He said that even with "20/20 hindsight, I saw nothing that ever gave me pause. We are only here because he hit it from everyone so well for so long. And by the time it came to light with his 2008 guilty plea, I had long stopped associating with him."

The Clintons' appearances for depositions come after the committee threatened to hold them in contempt. They finally agreed to appear in the beginning of February, after the request was initially sent in August.
