Police are investigating an incident involving an alleged racist act in a park in Calgary, according to CTV News.

The incident, which was caught on video, shows an Asian woman longboarding in the park while being filmed by her boyfriend. As she goes down the path, a male cyclist can be seen approaching from the other direction.

As the cyclist passes the couple he can be seen spitting on the woman and shouting racial slurs at her.

"What the f--- dude?" the woman says, "Are you f---ing kidding me?"

The couple claims that the cyclist spat on a white couple behind them as well.

"We are outraged," writes the poster. "I can't believe I caught this on video. So much for a Saturday night out, hey?"

Jessica Lau, the woman on the longboard, said she wasn’t sure how to react when the incident occurred.

Lau says it is the first time in her life that she has experienced racism and added that she’s been tested for coronavirus since the incident.

"Obviously the most natural reaction was a little bit of swearing and just (being) taken aback," she said when speaking to CTV News. "It was a slow realization that, 'Wow this does happen in Calgary unfortunately and in Canada.'"

The University of Calgary says that the suspect was a former employee of the Calgary Dinos.

The Calgary Police Service has arrested the man and charges are currently pending.
