One man is dead following a brawl between two conflicting groups in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday, according to police.

The fight took place in a strip mall parking lot at around 1 am, with police believing there to be somewhere between 20 to 30 participants.

Det. Sgt. Peter Thom told the CBC that the 19-year-old victim was stabbed to death during the brawl, which took place at 310 Limerage Road West.

"The individuals from the Peel region showed up in two vehicles and at that time they were swarmed by about 20 or 30 from the Hamilton group," said Thom. "There were weapons used. Knives, sticks, pipes and the mention of a Taser even being used as well."

Two others were stabbed and one person had a serious head injury. They were all taken to hospital, where one of them required surgery.

A video captured by an onlooker shows a white sedan speeding through the parking lot before driving full-speed in to two people, sending them over the hood of the vehicle. The group has not been identified, though police suspect the two men are suffering serious injuries.

"This is a tragedy, something that got absolutely out of control that should never have happened," Thom continued.

The 19-year-old stabbing victim's body was found behind an apartment building close by.
