It has been just under two years since Biden was elected as President of the United States. During this time, Americans have experienced rising costs of living, foreign policy embarrassments, and a crisis at the southern border.

Nonetheless, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised the commander-in-chief for his performance, suggesting that it was better than most presidents in recent memory.

Pelosi made her remarks during an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, in response to Democrat Rep. Elissa Slotkin's call for "generational change" within party leadership.

"Yes we need generational change, of course we do," Pelosi replied, "but in some cases there's no substitute for experience, and I think that what we have been through with the legislation under the leadership of President Biden."

She went on to suggest that Biden "has done a spectacular job," claiming that he's "had a better two years than most presidents that you can name, certainly in the recent generations."

Pelosi pointed to the American Rescue Plan, the bipartisan infrastructure bill, and the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act as the administration's crowning achievements, calling Biden's record "remarkable."

In her analysis of Biden's first two years in office, Pelosi failed to note that under his presidency, the rate of inflation quadrupled, whereas during Obama and Trump's first two years, it actually dropped.

Biden and his administration have insisted thathigh inflation would not last long, with Biden ensuring Americans in July 2021 that it was only "temporary."

One year later, inflation continued to see the highest jump since the 1980s, with administration officials warning Americans that prices would not be coming down any time soon.

Instead of taking responsibility, Biden blamed Putin and the war in Ukraine for the US' rising costs of living. Furthermore, his Inflation Reduction Act was quickly criticized by Republicans, and Bernie Sanders, for its inability to actually bring down inflation.

The first two years of the Biden presidency were also marred by his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the growing crisis at the southern border, both of which have also apparently been forgotten by Nancy Pelosi.
