"The Liberal chair is known for jumping in to protect Liberal witnesses and protect witnesses that could reveal the truth," said Poilievre on Wednesday.

Conservative MP Michael Barrett and Shadow Finance Minister Pierre Poilievre held a press conference on Friday providing a breakdown of yesterday's testimony from the Kielburger brothers, the founders of the WE Charity.

Notably, Poilievre had a direct message for the Chair of the Finance Committee Wayne Easter, who Poilievre says interjected himself in the conversation to protect Liberal witnesses from having to answer questions.

"I'd like to warn the chair of the finance committee to refrain from trying to protect the prime minister and block important questions. The chair of the committee is not supposed to be the prime minister's body guard. He's supposed to preside over an objective and fair meeting where members ask questions, and witnesses give answers."

"The Liberal chair is known for jumping in to protect Liberal witnesses and protect witnesses that could reveal the truth... The rule is this: the answer should be as long as the questions. The answers are not an opportunity to restate a speech. And the chair should know that, and if the witness doesn't answer the questin, then his job is to allow the questioner to go on to another question," Poilievre said.
