Trudeau addressed criticisms that he faced from Canadians after the PM travelled to his Quebec cottage to see his family on Tuesday outside Rideau cottage in Ottawa.

Trudeau said that, with his family having isolated for weeks and having isolated himself, his visit to his family abided by public health regulations.

Canadians expressed anger due to him not practicing what he has preached in regards to forbidding Canadians from all ''non-essential travel."

Trudeau's trip involved crossing the provincial border of Quebec and Ontario, which has been publicly denounced by provincial premiers. Police blockades were set up at the Ottawa/Gatineau border last week to bar anyone from entry in either direction that isn't related to a medical necessity.

Health Canada and PHAC tweeted out on April 10, to tell everyone to remain home over the Easter holidays.

Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's top medical officer, also echoed sentiments urging Canadians to stay home and to resist the urge to head to the cottage over the holidays.
