Just before noon on Monday, Columbus Day, Biden’s White House called a lid for the day, with an email sent at 11:52 stating that "we will not be seeing the president today."

This is the second day in a row that the White House has called a lid before noon, with a similar message being sent out at 11:34 am on Sunday, and the President and First Lady hosting a BBQ for White House Executive Residence Staff and their families on Sunday.

This comes as Israel continues to fight back against Hamas terrorists, who entered Israel on Saturday morning, killing over 900 people and injuring or capturing thousands of others. As of Monday, the death toll of Americans in the attacks rose to nine.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Biden on Sunday that "we have to go in" to Gaza.

"We can’t negotiate now," he added, saying "we have to restore deterrence."

On Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that he had ordered authorities to commence a "complete siege" of Gaza. "No electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed," he explained.

Israel declared war on Saturday morning, one of the US’ largest allies in the Middle East. This marks the largest attack since the Second Intifada over 20 years ago.

The Lebanese terror group Hezbollah has joined in on the attacks, The Taliban has reportedly requested for the nations of Iran, Iraq, and Jordan to allow the group passage to Israel to join the fight with Hamas and "conquer Jerusalem."
