Washington State University Athletic Director Pat Chun was caught violating COVID protocols at a men's basketball game on Thursday despite firing the head football coach for not getting vaccinated last month.
Photos obtained by The Post Millennial show a maskless Pat Chun failing to social distance at the WSU Cougars vs Idaho Vandals men's basketball game.
According to University of Idaho's website, "face coverings are required in any indoor university-sponsored event or space, regardless of vaccination status."
Nick Rolovich, the former head football coach, is suing WSU for illegal termination after he was fired for not complying with the vaccine mandate. In the lawsuit, Rolovich calls out athletic director Pat Chun over his "discriminatory and vindictive" behavior.
"Chun's animus towards Coach Rolovich's sincerely held religious beliefs, and Chun's dishonesty at the expense of Coach Rolovich during the past year is damning and will be thoroughly detailed in litigation," the statement reads.
"Rolovich is also accusing Chun of discriminatory and vindictive behavior," according to KOMO News.
Rolovich's request for a religious exemption due to his "devout" Catholic faith was denied by the university.
Rolovich, as well as four assistant coaches, were fired from their positions for failing to meet the state's October 18 vaccination deadline.
Washington State University extended Chun's contract through 2026 earlier this year and increased his base salary of $700,000 per year.
