A 12-year-old boy from southeast Washington DC has been arrested and charged with six carjackings and three robbery offenses.

Police say that the spree began on March 21, after the boy exited a vehicle around 5 pm that was operated by another suspect and approached a victim in the 2300 block of Elvans Road.

The Metropolitan Police Department said the boy allegedly assaulted the victim and attempted to take their belongings but fled before doing so.

On April 16, the boy, with other suspects, allegedly demanded that a victim, who was entering her vehicle, exit her vehicle at gunpoint in the 1700 block of Gainesville Street. The suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

The following day, the boy allegedly demanded a victim’s keys at gunpoint in the 700 block of 7th Street. The victim handed them over, and the suspect fled the scene. Another suspect fled the area in another vehicle.

On April 20, the suspects approached a victim in the 2300 block of Pitts Place and threatened them at gunpoint to hand over their keys. The victim complied, and the suspects attempted to flee the scene in the stolen car but were unsuccessful.

The same day, in the 2400 block of Pomeroy Road, the suspects allegedly demanded that a victim hand over their vehicle, which the boy fled in. Another suspect fled in a separate vehicle.

On April 24 in the 2300 block of Pomeroy Road, the suspects demanded that a victim give over their vehicle at gunpoint, but fled the scene without it. The suspects then approached another vehicle with two people sitting in it in the same block, threatened them at gunpoint, and fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

The same day, the suspects reportedly pulled a victim out of their vehicle in the 1100 block of 8th Street, and fled in it.

On April 25, the boy allegedly threatened a person at gunpoint to give him their property. The group of suspects then assaulted the victim, stole the property, and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

On April 29, a similar situation occurred, with the suspects threatening the victim at gunpoint. The victim handed over their property and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
