It's gearing up to be a long summer in the Democrat-run city of Chicago as 32 people were shot over the weekend while authorities struggle to contain the rise in crime.

Among the dozens shot in Mayor Johnson's Chicago, four ended up losing their lives, Breitbart News reports.

On Friday, a male victim was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting while standing on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of South Artesian Avenue. An individual driving a black Dodge Charger pulled up to the sidewalk and an occupant in the vehicle opened fire. Three other people were also shot during the incident, but did not succumb to their injuries, according to Chicago Sun-Times.

Chicago police said a 23-year-old was shot in the buttocks and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Two males, 24 and 27, were both shot in the leg and were transported to local hospitals listed in stable condition, according to police.

A 58-year-old male was shot in the hip and back, and was hospitalized in stable condition, police said.

Police have not yet identified the suspect(s) involved.

On Saturday evening, one person was killed and two others were wounded in another drive-by shooting that occurred in West Elsdon, according to the outlet.

Chicago police said shots were fired by an individual in a silver sedan at the 5300 block of South Kostner Avenue around 7:50 pm.

A 52-year-old woman was shot in the face and transported to Christ Medical Center in stable condition, according to police.

A 19-year-old male was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg and hand, police said. He was also listed in stable condition.

The male shot fatally, whose age has not yet been released, was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Chicago police have not yet arrested a suspect.

On Monday, a 15-year-old girl was fatally shot in the face in her home in Little Village in what police say is a domestic case, ABC 7 reports. The young teen's mother Karina Gonzalez, 48, was also fatally shot in the home, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Gonzalez's 17-year-old son was shot in the ankle and fled to a neighbor's house in the 2600 block of South Millard Avenue just after midnight Monday, according to police documents.

Police said that the teens' dad was taken into custody and located a firearm at the scene, according to the network.

This weekend of deadly violence follows the 30 people shot last weekend in the Windy City.
