However, there are areas in which there is consensus among both parties. A pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country as minors is supported by nearly 90 percent of Democrats and 52 percent of Republicans.
Additionally, 88 percent of Republicans and 55 percent of Democrats support the implementation of policies that restrict the number of those who are eligible to apply for asylum.
The poll was conducted between Sept. 13 and Sept. 15 and surveyed 1,027 American adults. The margin of error is +/- 3.6 percentage points.
