A new poll has found that the majority of American voters believe that the country is in a state of cultural and economic decline.

The poll, conducted by The Trafalgar Group in partnership with Convention of States Action, found that 72.5 percent of US likely general election voters believe the country is in a state of decline. 21.6 percent said that the country was not in a state of decline, while 5.9 percent said they were not sure.

By political party, 50.7 percent of Democrats believe the US is in decline, along with 91.7 percent of Republicans and 71.5 percent of independents.

The poll also found that the majority of voters think everyday Americans, rather than elected officials, are best equipped to reverse this state of decline, at 80.6 and 19.4 percent, respectively.

72.1 percent of Democrats, 80.7 percent of Republicans, and 87.5 percent of independents responded as such.

"The current decline of the US is glaringly obvious to anyone outside the DC beltway who has watched inflation drive grocery prices higher, seen the Tik Tok clips of the rabid leftwing activists teaching our children, or attempted to walk down a filth and crime ridden street of our major US cities," said Mark Meckler, President of the Convention of States.

"But what is most telling with this poll is where voters think the solution lies. They are no longer looking to political candidates or a political party to put the US on the right track. We are coming to the same realization that previous generations of Americans understood, America will become great again through the hard work and spirit of the everyday citizen. It will not come about because of politicians, but rather in spite of them."

The poll was conducted between June 5 and 9 of 1088 likely general election voters, and has a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

The results come in during Pride month, as reports of children being exposed to nudity across the nation at celebrations, and as the Biden administration has seen record high prices for everything from gasoline to food.

A recent poll found that 62 percent of Americans believe companies should remain neutral during Pride month, coming after the backlash against Target for their Pride collection, which included items for children, and the backlash against Bud Light for partnering with Dylan Mulvaney.

Another poll found that 65 percent of Americans say inflation is the top concern facing the nation

Illegal border crossings have skyrocketed under the administration, and Biden’s Department of Justice has indicted his lead political opponent in the 2024 election, former President Donald Trump.

Biden’s job performance still remains under 50 percent, with a RealClearPolitics average of polls placing his rating at 42.4 percent. His approval rating plummeted in August of 2021 following the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan which saw 13 US servicemembers killed.
