Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre was interrupted during an announcement on Tuesday by Global News reporter David Akin, who Poilievre described as a "Liberal heckler." Akin also said that Poilievre can go perform an indecent act on himself, according to Poilievre's press secretary for his transition team.

Poilievre stopped himself mid-announcement after chatter could be heard in the background, to which he said "We have, basically, a Liberal heckler who has snuck in here today."

"I'm a Liberal heckler?" said Akin, before introducing himself.

"Are you going to let me make my statement? I've never seen you heckling the prime minister," said Poilievre, who started his statement again. "Hopefully this time without interruption from the Liberal heckling gathering here, we'll speak directly to Canadians so that they can hear what the new leader of the Opposition has to say. I'll begin again."

Press Secretary for the Poilievre transition team Anthony Koch tweeted that Akin told him to tell Poilievre to "go f*ck himself" before interrupting the press conference.

"At a press conference today on combatting Justin Trudeau’s inflation David Akin told me to tell Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to “go fuck himself”. Later he erupted in a yelling spasm to try and prevent Mr. Poilievre from even beginning his press conference," Koch's tweet reads.
