The film that is the darling of the leftist award season, "One Battle After Another," made an impressive showing at the Golden Globes on Sunday night. Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film shows American activists larping as revolutionaries and took home best film, comedy, supporting female actor, best director, and best screenplay, according to Variety.

"One Battle After Another" opens the door for an acceptance of leftist violence as a moral "good" in the fight against racism, oppression, and law enforcement. The violent characters in the film are seen as heroes doing the perceived necessary work to bring the United States to its knees, rip open the borders, and dismantle the rule of law.

It has been documented that leftist violence has been on the rise in the United States. 2025 was reported to be the "left's most violent year in more that three decades." In addition to violence against law enforcement, conservative thought-leader Charlie Kirk was assassinated. Americans have noticed the increase, too, with a majority of both Democrats and Republicans saying that leftist violence is on an upswing.

The film features Leonardo DiCaprio as a single dad raising the daughter of a black revolutionary activist called Perfidia Beverly Hills, played by Teyana Taylor. As a couple and an activist force, the two had attacked law officers, murdered a security guard at a bank, and generally embodied the 1960s era ethos of the Weather Underground. Members of that group spent lifetimes in prison.

The film was based on Thomas Pynchon's Vineland, which was set in 1984, about 15 years after the tumultuous Weather Underground's activities in the United States. Anderson, however, ups the era and sets the film in 21st-century America. The presentation indicates that there has been no progress in civil rights since the 1960s and that the progressive, activist fight is the same as it was then.

"One Battle After Another" adopts the notion that the "fight" for civil rights in America is never and will never be complete. The tactics of the agitators in the revolutionary group mirror those of Antifa networks in the US as well as taking from the Weather Underground and 1960s-era violent leftist groups.

The film primarily tracks the daughter of DiCaprio's Bob Ferguson as she goes from academically inclined to revolutionary activist, with the help of her mother's mission and also an immigration raid in which she is caught up. The film itself has been something of a battle cry for American leftists who see themselves as these revolutionaries fighting for civil rights against the Trump administration.

In her acceptance speech for best supporting actress, Taylor said "To my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability, our depth is not too much, our light does not need permission to shine, we belong in every room we walk into, our voices matter and our dreams deserve space."

The film is from the Warner Bros. studio, which also took home awards for its picture "Sinners" and is about to be sold to Netflix for $83 billion. Celeb attendees to the awards sported pins saying "Be Good" and "ICE out" in protest of immigration enforcement in the United States.

"Sinners," which was up for best drama, was a Jim Crow-era vampire movie which is also a film about racism and oppression in America. It received seven nominations at the Golden Globes and won for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score.

“One Battle After Another" opens the door for an acceptance of leftist violence as a moral "good"… The violent Left better watch what they ask for. The cowards can only get away with it in the Leftist states; they won’t try that on those of us in open carry states, because we won’t hesitate to defend ourselves from these traitorous degenerates.
