On Sunday night, Hollywood elites, including Jean Smart, Mark Ruffalo, Wanda Sykes, and Natasha Richardson, wore pins reading “ICE OUT” and “BE GOOD” on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes. The buttons were in protest of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the shooting death of activist Renée Nicole Good, who lost her life while ramming a federal agent with her car.

Video showed Good driving into an ICE agent with her vehicle before being fatally shot. Good's death sparked massive protests in Minneapolis over the weekend, with sister protests springing up in other cities. Minneapolis, a sanctuary city, has laws preventing local law enforcement from working with federal officers.

The pin campaign was organized by left-wing activist groups, including the ACLU, Maremoto, MoveOn, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Working Families Power.

In a joint press release, the groups said "The #BeGood campaign aims to honor Renee Macklin Good and Keith Porter while also reminding us what it means to be good to one another in the face of such horror—to be a good citizen, neighbor, friend, ally and human. Everyday, everywhere, regular people are being good: keeping kids safe when they walk to school, filming fathers who are being disappeared from their workplaces, donating to fundraisers to support organizations who are keeping us safe."

Newly released video of the fatal ICE shooting shows Good’s SUV blocking a roadway for several minutes before she drove toward a federal agent and was shot. Surveillance footage first reported by CNN shows her vehicle positioned perpendicular to the street before the confrontation. At one point, a person exits the passenger side of the SUV before federal officers arrive.

Cellphone video released by Alpha News captures the moments leading up to the shooting. The footage shows an ICE agent approaching the vehicle and speaking with Good, who tells him, “That’s fine, dude, I’m not mad at you,” while her wife, Rebecca Good, taunts the agent and urges him to reveal his face. Rebecca Good is also heard telling her wife to drive, shouting, “Drive, baby, drive, drive,” moments before the SUV moves toward an agent. Shots are then fired, and the vehicle later crashes.

Federal officials, including Vice President JD Vance, have defended the agent’s actions, saying the video shows the officer’s life was in danger. Addressing the incident on Thursday, Vance said he was “very, very sad” for Good but described the shooting as a “tragedy of her own making.”
