Police in Massachusetts are searching for the wife of a Worcester Police Department officer who was found dead in their home on Tuesday morning. The wife, Karen Solomon, is said to be armed and fled their Worcester home shortly before police arrived and found 57-year-old veteran patrolman Kurt Solomon’s body.

Police released a video of Karen Solomon where she was seen walking away from their home in a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops at around 5:41 am on Tuesday morning. This was around 10 minutes after a 911 call came in regarding an incident at the home.

Per the Telegram & Gazette, a call came in from a female resident of the Wildwood Avenue home at around 5:30 am on Tuesday, reporting a “male laid out in her backyard, unknown breathing.” Officers found the body of a man upon arrival, with blood in the home. The caller was later identified as Karen Solomon. Only the dead man was in the home when police arrived.

Police have described the incident as being domestic in nature, and that Karen Solomon is a suspect and is considered "armed and dangerous." Details surrounding Kurt Solomon's death have not been released. A manhunt has been underway in recent days, with Karen Solomon still not being located.

Per the New York Post, Karen Solomon is the founder and president of First HELP, a nonprofit that works on raising suicide awareness and reducing the stigma around mental health concerns for police officers and first responders. She is also the author of two novels that deal with officers’ mental health struggles.

Her First HELP bio states, “Her focus is the stories of the families who have lost an officer to suicide and the officers who suffer with the feeling that they have nowhere to turn.”
