The Biden-Harris administration is reportedly in the midst of bringing on up to 1,200 DEI-related employees just before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, in what appears to be an apparent attempt to embed the roles before Trump takes office.

According to an analysis done by the Daily Wire of federal job opportunities, some of the roles have salaries over $300,000 annually and the amount spent on the job positions would total around $160 million each year. In the ten days after the election of Trump, 33 job positions were posted on federal websites. The hiring window closes before the president-elect takes office in January.

On November 15, for example, the Department of Health and Human Services advertised to fill the "Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health" role at a salary of up to $221,900 a year in order to “promote health equity." This, and other positions, were posted on the job opportunity platform USAJobs.gov.

The "Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health" role specifically, said that job candidates will exercise "leadership to ensure that all programs under their direction reflect the principles of workforce diversity" and the window to apply closed on November 29.

Two $310,000 per year DEI positions at the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission (FDIC) were also advertised on the platform. Each role allows for three days of remote work per week. One of the roles, the Director of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion, is tasked to “[lead] the development, implementation, and ongoing review and renewal of the FDIC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan" as well as "[contribute] to the development and implementation of FDIC-wide operations as a DEIA advocate."

The FDIC is also looking for an Office of Equal Employment director to develop "Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA), employee development, employee performance, and other personnel plans, processes, programs.” The position is also paid up to $310,000 a year.

The Daily Wire reports that the positions, "pay far more than the median household income in America." Even a "diversity data analyst" role which is a position meant for a "recent graduate" has a salary of $88,926.
