"Just admit it."
Bill Maher pushed Hunter Biden over his profiting from his father being in office on Friday, even as the younger Biden claimed that he had "no business" when Joe was the Commander in Chief.
The two discussed a number of topics, including the Iran war, Hunter's laptop, and more. Biden, however, said that when people claim he profited off of his dad being in office, they are just misunderstanding the situation. Maher said that a "reasonable" person would say that he, as well as his father, "took advantage of some your privileges"
“One of the things that people, I think, don’t understand is that when my dad was president, I didn’t do any business. I sold paintings, and I sold paintings to people that then had to testify before Congress under oath. I made an average of $225,000 a year,” Biden told Maher on the program.
"But would you have been working for an energy company out of Ukraine? Was that really something you studied in school?" Maher said that Hunter only got that job because his father was vice president.
Biden interjected and said that he had gone to "Yale Law School."
Maher continued, and said to the younger Biden: "Just admit it."
"Yeah, 100 percent," Biden replied. "I'm incredibly privileged. Beyond anyone’s wildest imagination, not only because of who my dad was, but because of the father that he was. And so a lot of privilege comes from that, and I don’t deny that in any way."
The younger Biden, who was under heavy scrutiny over his business dealings around the world before and during his father's presidency, has been accused of participating in an "influence peddling" scheme where connection to his father was seen as the product.
In multiple emails that were found on the younger Biden's laptop that was discovered by reporters at the New York Post, Joe Biden was allegedly called the "Big Guy" several times, where the former president could benefit from his son's business dealings in China, Ukraine, and other places internationally.
