"The people have spoken," Alx wrote. "It’s time to reinstate @RealAlexJones Vox Populi, Vox Dei."
Elon Musk said he's considering reinstating Alex Jones on Twitter. He said he'd run a poll and perhaps let the people decide. While waiting for that poll to commence, Alx decided to get one going himself.
The positive response was astounding. Of the 58,901 who participated in the poll, 92 percent of those surveyed said that yes, Jones should be reinstated.
"The people have spoken," Alx wrote. "It’s time to reinstate @RealAlexJones Vox Populi, Vox Dei."
"Ok," Musk replied.
Elon then launched his own poll and it appears the people do indeed want Elon back.
"Will consider. In general, since this platform aspires to be the global town square, permanent bans should be extremely rare. Also, if he does say something false on this platform, then @CommunityNotes will correct him, whereas that would not be the case elsewhere. Let's hold a poll:" Musk said on Thursday.
There have been many calls from other users to have him reinstated. Musk has reinstated many controversial people since buying Twitter and making it into a free speech space. His largest unbanning was former President Donald Trump, who was kicked off not only Twitter but also Facebook and Instagram after the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, for which he has been blamed.
Musk held a poll, and the people demanded Trump's return. "The people have spoken," Musk said. "Vox Populi Vox Dei."
Jones was banned from the platform when it was still under founder Jack Dorsey's leadership. His alleged violation was confronting journalists Oliver Darcy and Brian Stelter over continuously defaming him and trying to cost him advertisers on Infowars.
Tucker Carlson sat down with Jones for a wide-ranging interview this week on Tucker on X. The interview touched on those controversial subjects that Jones is known for and detailed the impact the lawsuit brought by Sandy Hook parents has had on him personally as well as his company.
Jones was vilified after calling into question the school shooting in Sandy Hook, Con. In 2012. He later apologized for his remarks but has been ordered to pay restitution of $85 million.
