"Let's hold a poll."
"Will consider. In general, since this platform aspires to be the global town square, permanent bans should be extremely rare. Also, if he does say something false on this platform, then @CommunityNotes will correct him, whereas that would not be the case elsewhere. Let's hold a poll:" Musk said.
Musk was responding to a post suggesting that he bring Jones back.
"Think about how much letting Alex Jones BACK on X would make the machine rage @elonmusk. It's time."
Jones was permanently banned from the social media platform before Musk acquired the company last year. In fact, the InfoWars host has been banned from the platform since 2018. At the time, Twitter said they made the decision to ban Jones for violating the company's "abusive behavior" policy.
According to AP, Jones's "Twitter crime" was insulting a CNN reporter outside a congressional hearing. Someone had filmed the interaction on Periscope which was a live-streaming service on Twitter, although the feature has since been discontinued. Jones reportedly did not film or upload the altercation.
On Thursday, Tucker Carlson is set to drop an exclusive interview with Jones on his Tucker on X show, which could bring further attention to the poll.
After Musk purchased the company for $44 billion in 2022, he has reinstated many accounts that had been banned by the previous owners. Musk has since made it his mission to ensure that free speech thrives on the platform, even if that mission comes at the cost of advertisers who are currently working on behalf of left-wing globalist forces to blackmail X into censorship.
People across X are seemingly eager to see a potential Alex Jones return to X, with one person saying that it would be the "ultimate liberal meltdown."
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
