An active shooter situation took place in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, leaving one dead and three injured.
According to local law enforcement officials, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) responded to the situation near 1110 W Peachtree St NW, urging people to either shelter in place or avoid the area altogether.
As of 12:42 pm, the situation remains ongoing, and no suspect has been taken into custody. Police tweeted at 1:06 pm to be on the lookout, as the suspect is still at large.
The shooter would later be identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson.
"Anyone in the area is asked to secure their building and shelter in place. Anyone not in the area is asked to stay away," authorities tweeted.
