A Delta airlines jet caught on fire on an Orlando International Airport runway on Monday, prompting an emergency evacuation and emergency slides, the Federal Aviation Authority.

CBS News reports that the flight was bound for Atlanta and was pushing back from the gate for departure when an engine caught fire.

There were no reports of injuries. "The fire was contained and is out," a spokesperson for the Orlando airport said.

Delta said that the plane, an Airbuses 330, had 282 passengers on board, as well as 10 flight attendants and two pilots. The airline said crews evacuated the cabin when flames were seen from the tailpipe.

"We appreciate our customers' cooperation and apologize for the experience," the airline said in a statement. "Nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible."

The FAA says an investigation will be launched.
