On Thursday, a grand jury indicted 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, who has been accused of leaking classified documents online.

According to ABC News, the Justice Department has charged Teixeira with six counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information related to national defense.

"The unauthorized removal, retention and transmission of classified information jeopardizes our nation's security. Individuals granted access to classified materials have a fundamental duty to safeguard the information for the safety of the United States, our active service members, its citizens and its allies," said acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy in a statement. "We are committed to ensuring that those entrusted with sensitive national security information adhere to the law."

Teixeira is accused of leaking classified US military intelligence on Ukraine, and was arrested by federal agents on April 14.

The files reportedly included information suggesting Ukraine will soon run out of artillery and potentially risking US intelligence sources around the world.

The documents, leaked to an invite-only Discord channel, also reportedly suggested that US intelligence had penetrated the highest levels of the Russian Military.

The documents also revealed that American-made Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) sent to Ukraine have been missing their targets due to Russian electronic jamming devices.

Another issue shown in the documents is that some of the bombs were not detonating when they hit their target because they failed to arm properly when dropped, an issue for which the Ukraine military created a fix.

After Teixeira’s arrest, Representative Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) sent a letter to the Secretary of Defense demanding to know the extent of involvement the United States has in Ukraine.

"Nearly 100 special forces from Western countries, including more than a dozen Americans, have been operating on the ground in Ukraine, according to leaked classified documents. These classified documents were allegedly leaked by Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old member of the 102nd Intelligence Wing of Massachusetts," Greene wrote.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
