Doug Ford has apologized for his over-reaching enforcement measures, saying that "as premier, the buck stops with me."
Speaking from isolation in Etobicoke, Ford choked back tears as he thought about families who have been affected by lockdown measures.
"I know that these lockdowns have been devastating for people. It means forcing people to lose their business and paycheque."
Ford began the press conference by speaking about his previous enforcement measures: we got it wrong, we made a mistake," said Ford. "These decisions made a lot of people very concerned. I know we got it wrong, I know we made a mistake, and for that, I apologize."
"I'm sorry, and I apologize to each and every one of you," added the premier.
"When we get something wrong and we make a mistake, we'll fix it as soon as we can. I understand and accept the responsibility [for people being upset]."
The Zoom stream failed before the announcement could come to a close.
