All House Republicans in leadership positions have officially endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2024, paving the way for Trump's chance to win the GOP primary and become the official Republican presidential candidate as he continues to dominate all competition in the polls.

This after House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) joined their Republican colleagues and issued their highly anticipated endorsements this week ahead of the upcoming important Iowa caucus which kickstarts the 2024 election season.

In a statement published to X, Emmer called on the Republican Party to unite behind the "clear frontrunner," which he said is former President Donald Trump, in order to ensure President Biden does not get another term in the White House.

"Democrats have made clear they will use every tool in their arsenal to try and keep Joe Biden and his failed policies in power. We cannot let them. It's time for Republicans to unite behind our party's clear frontrunner, which is why I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President," wrote Emmer.

This highly anticipated endorsement comes after Donald Trump thwarted an effort for Emmer to assume House speakership following the historic ousting of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), according to the Daily Mail. In an attempt to prevent Emmer from becoming the next House Speaker, Trump claimed in a post on Truth Social that Emmer was an anti-Trump RINO (Republican in name only), and claimed he "never respected the Power of a Trump Endorsement."

Emmer's endorsement of the former president, whose polling average leads over his nearest competitor by 50 points, aligns him with the remaining members of the House leadership.

In addition to Emmer, Rep. Steve Scalise issued his endorsement of the former president on Tuesday and said: "I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, and I look forward to working with President Trump and a Republican House and Senate to fight for those families who are struggling under the weight of Biden's failed policies."

These two endorsements mean that House Republicans have officially decided to unite behind one clear candidate in order to try and defeat the Democrats in 2024.

In November, House Speaker Mike Johnson endorsed Trump saying that he was "all in" on another Trump White House, while Rep. Elise Stefanik, who serves as the House Republican Conference Chair, was the first to endorse Trump and said at the time: "It is time for Republicans to unite around the most popular Republican in America, who has a proven track record of conservative governance."

Former President Donald Trump welcomed Emmer's endorsement in a post on Truth Social and wrote: "THANK YOU TOM, I WILL NEVER LET OUR COUNTRY DOWN!"

The House GOP endorsements come after a new poll published on New Year’s Day found Donald Trump to be leading among Hispanic and younger voters over incumbent Joe Biden.

The USA Today/Suffolk University poll found that Trump leads Biden among American voters 39 to 37 percent, with 17 percent supporting a third-party option

When the third-party candidates are named, Trump leads Biden 37 to 34 percent, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gaining the most support among the third-party candidates at 10 percent.

Trump has the majority of the Hispanic vote, with 39 percent supporting the former president over Biden, who garnered 34 percent support. In 2020, Biden drew in 65 percent of the vote in the group, double the 32 percent Trump received.

Trump now also leads among voters under the age of 35, with 37 percent of these voters supporting Trump compared to 33 percent supporting Biden.

The survey was conducted of 1,000 likely US voters between Dec. 26 and 29, and has a margin of error of 3.1 percent.
