"I'd love her to just answer what she wants to do," Vance said.
In Eau Claire, Wisconsin Wednesday afternoon, both vice presidential candidate JD Vance and current Vice President and Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ planes arrived on the same tarmac. Harris has not taken questions in the 17 days since she announced her candidacy for president and there are no platform positions currently listed on her website.
Addressing reporters stationed outside Harris’ plane, Vance said, "So I know you’re covering the Vice President here, I figured I’d come by and … take a look at the plane cause hopefully it's going to be my plane in a few months."
"I also thought you guys might get lonely, because the Vice President doesn’t answer questions from reporters, and hasn’t for 17 days," he continued, asking the reporters why Harris hasn't been taking their questions. When no reporter answered his question, Vance replied, "I hope that she changes her mind because it would be good for the American people, and I think it would be good for you all, if she actually ran a real campaign instead of one from a basement with a teleprompter."
As he began to walk away from the reporters, they asked Vance what he'd like to know about Harris, who hasn't given an interview or taken questions from reporters since becoming the Democrat nominee for president. She announced her veep pick on Tuesday, who will be Tim Walz of Minnesota.
"What would you like to hear from her?" A reporter asked Vance.
"I'd love her to just answer what she wants to do and also why every single position she has, has changed. She pretends to be prosecutor, she pretends to be a tough on crime prosecutor," he said but noted that she flouts the laws of the United States by opening up the US-Mexico border to masses of illegal immigrants.
"This is a person who has to answer the questions from the media, and it’s disgraceful that she runs from you guys," Vance said. "It’s also insulting to the American people."
Vance wrote on X following the appearance, "I thought the reporters traveling with Kamala might be a little lonely given that she never answers questions from them, so I figured I’d come say hello and check out my new plane while I was at it."
