Katie Zacharia has been tapped to be the next White House press secretary to replace Karoline Leavitt in the Trump administration.

Currently, Zacharia is a communications adviser to Trump Media and Technology Group, according to her LinkedIn profile. She also worked at the Department of Homeland Security under then-Secretary Kristi Noem.

“She has been offered the position,” a White House official told the Washington Examiner. Zacharaiah has a background in law as well as in political communications. She has also been an advisor for Fix California, a conservative organization looking to claw back power for the GOP in the Democrat-dominated state.

Zacharia worked as a commentator at Newsmax as well as Fox News before her stint with the DHS in the Trump administration. She would replace Leavitt, who left the post in August to spend more time with her family after she had her second child. Leavitt has also taken on a role at Fox News as an on-air contributor.

The details of when Zacharia would start or her official acceptance were not immediately announced. In addition to her roles at Fox News and Newsmax, Zachariah regularly appears in other conservative media spaces. She lives in California and has four children. She earned her law degree from Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law and has also served as a member of the Dean's Council.
