Mark Zuckerberg has met with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
Rumors of a MAL meeting began to circulate on X after Natalie Allison of Politico posted "I’m told Mark Zuckerberg was just spotted at Mar-a-Lago …"
Per Maggie Haberman of the NYT: "Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder, had a private meeting with President-elect Donald J. Trump at Mar-a-Lago this afternoon, two people briefed on the meeting tell Joanthan Swan and me. Zuckerberg did not back Trump, but he praised his defiant, fist-raised posture right after he was shot at in July by a would-be assassin in Pennsylvania as “badass.” Zuckerberg’s representatives did not immediately return a request for comment."
Trump adviser Stephen Miller later confirmed the meeting on Fox News, saying that Zuckerberg recognizes that Trump is an “agent of change and prosperity” and that he wants to be a part of that change. "He's made it clear that he wants to support the national renewal of America under President Trump's leadership."
“It’s an important time for the future of American Innovation. Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration,” a Meta spokesperson told the New York Post.
After the first attempt on Trump's life, Zuckerberg praised the 45th and 47th president, saying "Seeing Donald Trump get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most badass things I've ever seen in my life."
In September, it was reported that Zuckerberg hired Republican strategist Brian Baker, per the New York Times, to help mend his relationship with the right. Sources who spoke with Zuckerberg recently said that the Meta CEO identifies in private more closely with libertarianism or "classical liberalism."
After Trump's decisive victory, Zuckerberg said "Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory. We have great opportunities ahead of us as a country. Looking forward to working with you and your administration."
