After former President Donald Trump was announced to be the winner of the New Hampshire Republican primary on Tuesday, Nikki Haley congratulated her opponent in a speech.

“I want to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory tonight. He earned it," Haley said about Trump on stage at Concord's Grappone Center about 20 minutes after the final polls had closed.

"New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not the last in the nation. This race is far from over!"

Although Haley congratulated Trump, she would not concede the primary battle, saying, “The road is never going to stop here in New Hampshire, that’s always been the plan.”

Haley touted getting "close to half of the vote" during the primary of the Granite State.

Haley said she was looking forward to going to her home state of South Carolina.

"At one point in this campaign, there were 14 of us running and we were at two percent in the polls," Haley commented. "Well, I'm a fighter and I'm scrappy, and now we are the last ones standing next to Donald Trump."

Haley said that politics has become too personal but that for her it wasn't. Even though she agreed with many of Trump's policies when he was in office and voted for him twice, she said she decided to run because she was "worried about the future of [the] country."

Haley then challenged Trump a debate suggesting his mental capabilities may be lacking because of his age.

"Trump claims he'd do better than me in one of those [mental] tests ... If he thinks that, then he should have no problem standing on a debate stage with me."

Haley went onto say that "most Americans do not want a rematch between Biden and Trump."

“The first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins this election. And I think it should be the Republicans that win this election," Haley continued.
