Speaking on a Twitter Spaces session co-hosted by Elon Musk, Democrat presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr proclaimed that the people of the United States are being "victimized" by their "own agencies," which he says are intentionally ignoring important context and nuance surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Numerous notable users listened to at least part of the discussion, including Tulsi Gabbard, Rob Schneider and Breit Weinstein.

Kennedy explained that many people have "been propagandized with these comic book depictions that are now formulaic," akin to a Marvel movie where a bad guy attacks unprovoked. He then said that Ukraine has lost around 350,000 kids, and is in a far worse position than before, adding that the nation has no chance of winning this war.

He spoke on what Russia endured during World War II and claimed that the notion that the Americans beat the Nazis is not true and that it was, in fact, an accomplishment of Russia.

According to Kennedy, there will be no peace until those involved with diplomacy put themselves in the shoes of the Russians.

As he explained, "Hitler invaded Russia, through the Ukraine, and then killed one out of every seven Russians and leveled the nation 1/3 As a nation." He added that his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy, once said of Russia, "imagine, all of the American continent, the United States was reduced to rubble between the East Coast and Chicago," arguing that Russia faced an equivalent fate.

In another part of the discussion, a joining user asked Kennedy about his position on the Second Amendment. The Democrat presidential candidate indicated he has no plans to take any American's guns away, and opined that it would be far too polarizing to make any attempts to bring further gun control. He also pointed out that the epidemic of nationwide mass shootings did not start until after the "introduction of Prozac," and that similar mass attacks against random innocents such as children were not widely seen in human history.

Speaking on the conduct of the US foreign policy establishment surrounding the Ukraine conflict, Kennedy remarked that "This is like sleepwalking into World War I," a war he argues "accomplished nothing."

He added, "now we have nuclear weapons and we're going we're picking a fight with a country that has 1000, more nuclear weapons than we do. It's just insane."

Musk largely agreed with Kennedy's comments, remarking that he shares “a lot of these concerns.” He added that the notion of diplomats flying around for fancy dinners while kids are “dying in trenches” is “morally reprehensible.”

Kennedy stressed that Volodymyr Zelensky was elected by 70 percent of participating voters after he ran on a “peace platform,” seemingly suggesting that the Ukrainian president now ought to make good on that promise.
