Authorities say the shooter at Perry High School in Iowa killed himself after carrying out the attack.

Sheriff Adam Infante confirmed that authorities had identified the suspect, however no further information has been released.

According to the Associated Press, a law enforcement official said evidence suggested that the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Des Moines Register originally reported that a first responder told dispatchers there was a "male subject down in the hallway" near Room 308 with a wound that "appears to be self-inflicted." They were said to have "other victims" as well. Not long after, the first responder claimed the suspect was "down and deceased."

During a press conference, Infante confirmed that there were "multiple gunshot victims," but noted that there was "no further danger" to the residents of the town about 35 miles northwest of Des Moines.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
