No one was home at the time, though Metcalf arrived about 5 minutes after the call.
Metcalf's son Austin was fatally stabbed at a track meet in April and another student, Karmelo Anthony, has been charged in his death. When he was questioned by police, he admitted to having stabbed Metcalf.
Father Jeff Metcalf had attended a press conference on Thursday that was held by the family and representatives of Anthony. Before the conference began, he was escorted out.
Dominique Alexander, a spokesperson for the Anthony family, said, "The father being at this press conference, these are my words, don't quote anybody, is a disrespect to the dignity of his son."
"He knows that it is inappropriate to be near this family," Alexander went on to say. "But he did it. Actions speak louder than words." The press conference continued after Metcalf had been escorted out.
During that press conference, Anthony's mother said that her family had been targeted with threats, that her husband's mental health was deteriorating and her daughter has been afraid to sleep in her own bed.
Swatting is a term used when someone calls into 911 to report a fake violent incident at the home of a person they want to harass or see killed by officers responding to the scene. The resident of the home is surprised and confused when a SWAT team arrives.
Anthony was released on $250,000 bond on Monday and has been confined to house arrest. A crowdsourced fundraiser has raised nearly $500,000 to help with Anthony's legal fees.
