President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he has appointed Andrew Giuliani as Executive Director of the President’s Task Force on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as well as Carlos Cordeiro as senior advisor. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being held jointly by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

"I am proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Giuliani as the Executive Director of the President’s Task Force on the 2026 FIFA World Cup. During my First Term, Andrew served as a Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director of the Office of Public Liaison, playing a key role in creating the system that enabled athletes from around the World to re-enter the United States during the Reopening of America in 2020," Trump wrote, Giuliani is the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

"Additionally, Carlos Cordeiro will serve as Senior Advisor. Carlos is currently Senior Advisor to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), and was previously the President of the United States Soccer Federation, where he was Chairman of the winning bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup," Trump added. "I know Andrew and Carlos will work tirelessly to make the 2026 FIFA World Cup an unprecedented success. Congratulations Andrew and Carlos!"

The 2026 World Cup will be spread across 16 host cities in North America. The USA will host events in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York/New Jersey area. Canada will see events held in Toronto and Vancouver, and Mexico will hold events in Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey.

In March, Trump established the White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Executive Director role, as described by the order signed by Trump, will see Giuliani "administer and execute the day-to-day operations of the Task Force," and "report to the Chair through the Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Implementation."

The same day Trump signed the order, he was presented a personalized ball from FIFA and was presented with the trophy that will be given out in the World Cup.
