President Trump has made a statement on Twitter, saying that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have their security paid for them by the US taxpayer.

This comes after Harry and Meghan left the monarchy and moved to Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It caused some controversy when it was revealed that the Canadian taxpayer would be footing there expensive security bill.

Having said this, the Canadian government chose later to stop paying the security bill.

"I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom, said the president. "However, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!"

"It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S."

In Canada, estimates of the cost of the couple's security reached as high as $10 - $30 million.
