"I look forward to working together with him to beat Joe Biden, who is the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country."
When asked by Fox Digital, Trump said "very honored to have his endorsement. I look forward to working together with him to beat Joe Biden, who is the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country."
A statement from the campaign said "it's time to choose wisely."
"With only a few days left until President Donald J. Trump’s victory in New Hampshire, we are honored by the endorsement from Governor Ron DeSantis and so many other former presidential candidates. It is now time for all Republicans to rally behind President Trump to defeat Crooked Joe Biden and end his disastrous presidency," the campaign said.
"Nikki Haley is the candidate of the globalists and Democrats who will do everything to stop the America First movement. From higher taxes, to decimating Social Security and Medicare, and to open borders, she represents the views of Democrats more than the views of Republicans. It’s time to choose wisely."
"It's clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance," he said. "They watch his presidency gets stymied by relentless resistance, and they see Democrats using lawfare to this day to attack him. While, I've had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the Coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent Joe Biden. That is clear.
"I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and I will honor that pledge is my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, or repackage formed of warmed over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents. The days of putting Americans last of kowtowing to large corporations, of caving to woke ideology are over."
DeSantis thanked voters and supporters. He spent some $120 million on his campaign before leaving the race. He headed back to Florida on Sunday leaving some supporters still expecting him to arrive at New Hampshire campaign stops.
The recent months of campaigning have been contentious between Trump and DeSantis, with DeSantis taking aim at Trump in his attempt to knock him off the top of the ballot. Trump will face Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire primary and leads her by at least 19 points.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
