Elon Musk's Twitter has undergone a major rebranding as it transitions to X Corp., following in the footsteps of other big tech corporate name changes. The move comes as company CEO, Elon Musk continues his quest to transform Twitter into an “everything app” similar to China’s WeChat.

According to an email sent to Twitter’s business partners, the company’s official name has been changed to X Corp. The email also instructed partners to use the new name in all official dealings. However, it is still unclear when the change was made.

"We are writing to let you know that Twitter, Inc. has been renamed to X Corp. The Twitter service will continue to be known as Twitter," a statement says. "Going forward, you may refer to X Corp. in place of Twitter, Inc. for all contracting, billing, and other records you may have."

Despite the corporate rebranding, the social media site will still operate under the name Twitter, similar to Google’s transition to Alphabet in 2015 and Facebook’s recent switch to Meta in 2021.

Musk’s ambition for Twitter is to transform it into an “X” super app that offers services such as mobile payments and social media under one umbrella, Forbes writes.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
