On Tuesday, the president of the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board of Education was caught telling a parent "f*ck you" after she criticized the possibility of a child vaccine mandate in the district.
Lauren Roupoli, who identified herself as a concerned parent, demanded that the school district oppose COVID-19 vaccine mandates for school children, arguing that the vaccine has little health benefits against a virus with an extremely low fatality rate in that age range.
Noting that the virus has a 99.9937% amongst children, Roupoli said "The infection fatality rate is so low that Pfizer's clinical trials involving 2,300 kids did not detect any health benefits at all from the shot. Pfizer has not demonstrated any health benefits for children and the potential risks for children are detrimental."
"The Pfizer mRNA vaccine causes horrific side effects, particularly heart inflammation in children 12 through 24. We are vaccinating 28 million kids to maybe save 14 lives," she continued.
Referring to the recent decision a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel, she noted that one of the voting members "stated we're never gonna learn about how safe the vaccine is until we're until we start giving it."
"If you care for wellness, I urge you to be the first to say no mandates for our children. What side of history are you willing to participate?" Roupoli stated.
Roupoli was cut off, with board members stating that her time is up. In the pause between speakers, the president of the Los Alamitos Unified School District Board, Marlys Davidson, was caught on her microphone telling Roupoli "f*ck you."
In a similar line of frustration, Davidson can be heard in the meeting also saying "oh god, here we go" before another speaker approaches the podium.
Following Tuesday's meeting, Davidson issued an apology, saying "I am deeply sorry for the inappropriate comment that I made in last night's board meeting," according to KTLA 5.
"I am going to personally apologize to the speaker who most certainly deserves to know that when the members of the public address the Board of Education, they must be heard with respect," she continued.
"These are trying times, but trying times demand that we rise to do our best. I reaffirm my commitment to serve out community with dignity and integrity, and I hope they will accept my sincere apology."
Roupoli told KTLA 5 that Davidson needs to step down from her position.
"After her true colors showed last night, there's no taking that back," Roupoli said.
