After President Joe Biden may dropped out of the presidential race calls for him to resign the presidency altogether surged. Those who posted that he should resign fully said, essentially, if he's not fit to run in November, what makes him fit to serve until November? VP candidate JD Vance asked the question on Saturday, just one day before Biden withdrew from the race.

If Biden were to resign, Kamala Harris, vice president and frontrunner to be the new Democrat at the top of their ticket, would assume the office months ahead of facing Donald Trump on Election Day. Harris does not necessarily match up well in polling against Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head contest.

"Everyone calling on Joe Biden to *stop running* without also calling on him to resign the presidency is engaged in an absurd level of cynicism. If you can't run, you can't serve. He should resign now," he said. Those calls for Biden to leave the White House ramped up on Sunday after Biden did drop out of the race.

Not fit to run for president, not fit to serve as president. Biden should resign immediately," said Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

"Then RESIGN your office," said Senator Josh Hawley in response to Biden's withdrawal. "If you can’t run a mere political campaign, you can’t be President."

"If Joe Biden can’t run for re-election, he is unable and unfit to serve as President of the United States. He must immediately resign. The Democrat Party is in absolute free fall for their blatantly corrupt and desperate attempt to cover up the fact that Joe Biden is unfit for office. Every elected Democrat in America owns Joe Biden’s failed and feckless record causing the border crisis, Bidenflation, and chaos and weakness around the world. President Trump will win this November to save America," said Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York.

Rep. Nancy Mace joined in as well, saying, "Doesn’t have the mental acuity or cognitive ability to run a political campaign but can serve for 6 more months as president? He should resign."

"If Joe Biden is not fit to run for president, he is not fit to serve as president. He needs to RESIGN NOW!" said Tennessee mayor Glenn Jacobs.

Attorney Stephen Miller said, "The entire Democrat party has been complicit in hiding Joe Biden’s senile dementia for 4 years. We’ve had no president while our planet has plunged into war. A scandal beyond measure. Which is why the entire Democrat Party must be ejected from power—and Joe Biden must resign NOW."

Rep. Tom Tiffany said, "If you are unfit to stand trial. If you are unfit to run for re-election. Then you are unfit to be president of the United States. Biden must resign."

"If Joe Biden is unfit to run for re-election, he is unfit to run our country. This is a major national security crisis. Joe Biden should resign the presidency immediately," said Rep. John James.

"If President Biden is incapable of serving as his party’s nominee, he’s incapable of serving as our Commander-in-Chief for the next 6 months. He should resign effective immediately as a matter of national security," Senator Mike Braun said.
